Selling your nuts

Finding trees is always free and open to anyone. Selling is an option for those who want it.

$5 a gallon

to start. We may adjust the price after we check the nuts, for example for very wet, moldy, or mixed nuts.

  1. Gather

Collect bitternut hickory, shagbark hickory, or chestnuts from the ground. Only forage where you have permission. If we see a tree of yours with promising nuts, we may reach out first.

  2. Book a drop-off

Tell us about how many gallons you have and pick a time that works for you.

  3. Drop off and get paid

We check your nuts and pay you right there, in cash or by Venmo or PayPal.

Tips for the best price

  • Pick up nuts soon after they fall.
  • Keep each kind of nut separate.
  • Let them dry in a cool, airy spot. Don't seal them in plastic.
